In fall 2025, UK Recycling opened The Thrifty Cat, UK’s campus free store. I collaborated with the UK Recycling student intern who pioneered The Thrifty Cat’s creation to create the branding identity for the new campus student resource.

The goal for The Thrifty Cat brand was to curate a visual identity that would resonate with University of Kentucky students and the free store's mission of reducing waste and providing for students with emergent needs. The result was a  visual personality for the free store that would be memorable, fun and connected to the University of Kentucky’s brand. The brand process culminated in the creation of Thrifty, The Thrifty Cat’s mascot.

Utilizing the newly created brand identity, I created a logo and variations, graphic illustrations, and wayfinding signage.

Thrifty's Character sheet design displaying the cat's unique features like their paw print, their long pointy and curved ears, and lack of eyes and mouth.
