At the end of the 2024 football season, a Big Blue Recycling Crew student intern reached out to UK Recycling about a marketing idea she had for the 2025 football season. When she approached us, she was hesitant about her creative ability and wasn’t sure how to make her vision reality. I said something along the lines of,  “Don’t worry about it because I do.”
The student created a mood board and we discussed her vision for the button campaign. My creative process began with analog tracing and sketching of the images before I digitized and colored them. My goal was for each button to stand out on its own, but also be a cohesive set.
The buttons were featured in a social media campaign. UK Recycling collaborated with various student organizations to bring awareness of recycling efforts. The two posts with the most views and engagements we collaborated with pageant queens and the Wildcat Marching Band.
